It looks like Intel's quad-core processor named 'Kentsfield' may arrive earlier than touted. Intel's official release schedule spanned the whole of 2007 but when details of the chip emerged late last year it was said to be released sometime during mid-2007. But it looks like it could be ready for early 2007.
Intel was showing off 'Kentsfield' earlier this month at IDF, the move to get the chip out earlier than scheduled appears to have come from some pressure from AMD, which is expected to launch its quad-core processors at the same time.
