Creative Technology on Monday filed a complaint with the U.S International Trade Commission seeking an injunction that would prevent Apple from importing iPods from its overseas manufacturers.
In the filing Creative requests an investigation into whether Apple Computer has violated Section 337 of Tariff of Act 1930.
Under Section 337 of Tariff Act of 1930, imported products that allegedly violate United States intellectual property rights can be barred from access into the country.
The company is seeking a cease and desist order against Apple preventing it from selling, marketing of importing its iPod music player.
Creative claims that Apple has infringed on Patent No. 6,928,433 also referred to as the "Zen Patent", which was awarded to Creative on August 9, 2005.
