Variety.com is reporting that Apple will serve up feature films before the end of 2006.
Sources within Hollywood have reported that Steve Jobs has been in talks with studios proposing to sell movies at a flat and easy to remember price of $9.99. The studios naturally declined.
Within the Variety.com report it appears that Apple may be flexing under pressure to offers movies at variable price points, varying from $19.99 to $9.99. The studios claim it well help differentiate between new and old titles.
"Every studio wants to have broad distribution in digital, and we all know that having Apple as part of that is very, very important," a studio exec said.
