WebObjects 5.4 Going Open Source?

Reports began several months back that Apple was planning to open source some select parts of its WebObjects suite.

Recently at WWDC it was made official that such a thing would be happening, Apple is planning to open source some of the database solutions code.

WebObjects is extensively used by Apple in web applications such as the iTunes Music Store, .mac and the online Apple Store.

In an email sent to members of the WebObjects mailing list it was revealed the WebObjects was evolving, due to Apple's decision to diminish its Cocoa Java bridge with the release of Xcode 2.4, the email went on to say that several included WebObjects applications will also diminish, but stated that support would continue long into the future.

Vista RC1 Works on Boot Camp 1.1

Reports from around the Internet state that the latest build of Vista (5536) now work on Intel Macs, the installation procedure is said to be identical to that of Windows XP but apparently some driver issues are present.

"Tomorrow's Hits Today"

Apple today quietly released a new feature on its iTunes Music Store, the new page which is titled "Tomorrow's Hits Today" collects together all the albums available for Pre-Order on the Store and allows you to purchase them.
