In Brief: 15.4-inch MacBook, NASDAQ, 8 Core Mac Pro By Year’s End?

15.4-inch MacBook

DigiTimes is reporting that Foxconn will begin production of "a 15.4-inch MacBook model for Apple for the first time, with shipments to commence in May 2007."

It is unclear at the moment whether this is simply confusion with the 15.4-inch MacBook Pro.

NASDAQ

Apple said Friday that it has received a written notification from the NASQAD Stock Market stating that the NASDAQ Listing Qualifications Panel has granted the companies request for continued listing on the market.

Back in August NASDAQ and Apple held talks concerning non-compliance due to the delay of a quarterly filing by Apple.

NASDAQ says it will continue to list Apple, but Apple must file its Form 10-Q for the Quarter ending July, 1 2006 and any necessary restatements by the 29, December 2006.

If Apple is unable to file the Form 10-Q in time, then the company will seek an extension of the timeframe.

8 Core Mac Pro By Years End?

AppleInsider is reporting that Apple may update the Mac Pro with the 4-Core CPU Clovertown anytime after mid-November.

AppleInsider points towards two specific Intel processors, namely the Xeon X5355 (2.66GHz, 1.33GHz FSB) and the Xeon E5345 (2.33GHz, 1.33GHz FSB), naturally Apple would employ these processors in a dual processor configuration and thus create an 8-Core machine.
