AppleInsider reports
that Apple is working on an Operating System based on core technologies of Mac OS X but designed to work on upcoming consumer electronic devices.
According to AppleInsider, Apple plans to use the version of Mac OS X to run its iPhone, but also Apple plans "a jaw-dropping device not due to hit the market until the following year."
