iTunes Subscription Service?
CNN has raised a rumour via its Media Biz website on Wednesday. The posting points at new evidence that Apple could be looking at adding a subscription service to the iTunes Store.
CNN cited Les Ottolenghi, CEO of INTENT MediaWorks a company that deals with peer-to-peer networks, as saying that he's had meetings with Apple and believes it is going to add a subscription service in the next six months.
“I think Apple is seriously considering a subscription offering right now even though they will probably tell you otherwise,” said Ottolenghi. Spokespeople for Apple were not immediately available for comment.
Apple Seeks Fresh Store Concepts
UK magazine Design Week reports that Apple is said to be looking at new retail concepts with the consultancy Fitch.
Although the work is reiterated as being exploratory only, the company is quite clearly looking at ways of developing ideas and concepts for future Apple Store formats.
Both Fitch and Apple declined to comment on the matter.
