A report from Reuters has indicated that Apple is unlikely to bow to recent calls from the music industry to introduce a subscription based service. In an interview Reuters spoke to Apple CEO, Steve Jobs regarding music based subscription services.
"'Never say never, but customers don't seem to be interested in it,' Jobs told Reuters in an interview after Apple reported its financial results.
On the subject of DRM Jobs told Reuters that other music companies are "thinking very hard about it right now." The news comes after EMI and Apple joined forces to release EMI's catalogue without any DRM.
"We've said by the end of this year, over half of the songs we offer on iTunes we believe will be in DRM-free versions," Jobs said. "I think we're going to achieve that."
