DRM Free Music Coming to iTunes This Week?

During April, EMI and Apple announced that they would begin selling DRM-free music files on the iTunes Store during May.

With May coming to an end quickly PaidContent.org has questioned EMI over the original plans:

Asked for a progress update on delivery of its new, DRM-less repertoire, which EMI slated for a May release when it announced last month that Apple would get the line-up first, the EMI spokesperson confirmed that this development was also on course to make good on that schedule.

The delay is apparently due to the preparation of "an exclusive" offering.

It is believed that this exclusive will be Paul McCartney’s back catalog.
