Although not confirmed by any official sources, multiple sites are reporting that a change in Energy Stars conditions could affect Apple's current line-up of computers.
Energy Stars new conditions came into effect on July 20, the conditions aim to encourage use of more efficient power supplies and CPUs and as well as enhanced sleep modes.
According to reports only 125 computers on sale in the US meet the new standards, but it is noted that computers that no longer comply can still be sold as normal but some companies and government agencies may refuse to buy said products.
The changes come as a particular blow to Apple as it appears that none of its computers meet the new requirements. Apple has recently been trying to portray itself as a green company.
[Update] - After some further research Energy Star's website reads that the new specification was revised in October 2006 due to come into effect on July 20. The new specification rating is Version 4.0.
