DigiTimes has released a report based on an article in the Chinese-language Commercial Times, a publication with excellent sources among Apple’s far-eastern component manufacturers and assemblers.
The article quotes an unnamed supplier which is expected to ship 10 million units to Apple between July 1st and September 30th.
With the new iPhones to be available simultaneously in 22 countries on July 11, total shipments of 3G iPhones are expected to top 10 million units in the third quarter, the paper quoted sources at component suppliers as indicating.

DigiTimes also offers a table of the suppliers for the components in the new iPhone.
According to the table Infineon is supplying the SoC (system on chip) which will likely include a baseband controller, power management unit (PMU), and radio frequency (RF) module.
Broadcom is supplying the GPS chip and Sharp is supplying the touch-screen panels. The units remain in the hands of Foxconn who also assembled the first-generation iPhone.
