According to VESA Apple's variation of DisplayPort known as Mini DisplayPort will be included in the upcoming DisplayPort 1.2 specification.
The tiny port is to be included in the upcoming DisplayPort 1.2 specification, the standard's overseer, Vesa, said last week. The digital monitor link tech is to get stereoscopic display support too.
Apple originally showed the world Mini DisplayPort back in October when it refreshed all of its notebooks to include the tiny connector. Towards the end of 2008 Apple began offering no fee licenses for manufacturers wishing to implement the Mini DisplayPort connector.
