Apple Unveils Cross Border Ordering

Apple has today unveiled the ability to order purchases for recipients in other countries. The service known as Cross Border would allow a US-based customer to make a purchase for someone in the UK.

Apple currently offers the service in the US to 20 countries including: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Philippines, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, and the United Kingdom.

Apple UK is also offering the service with the ability to ship to: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Apple describes the service as working as follows:

For example, if you live in Chicago and want your gifts delivered to Mexico City, visit the Apple Online Store for Mexico. Then shop for the products you want and pay for your order with a credit card.
