Earlier this week Barron's reported that a "veteran analyst" had seen a prototype of the rumoured Apple tablet, the report offers very few details on the device but does states that the tablet will be impressive when displaying high definition video content. "It's better than the average movie experience, when you hold this thing in your hands" said the unnamed analyst.
The report goes onto mention that anticipation for Apple's device is so high that other manufacturers such as Lenovo have put new projects on hold waiting to see what Apple produces.
Barron's also has a secondary source which states that the Apple tablet "is all over the supply chain in Asia."
In related news a research note released this week claims that Apple has been investigating tablet screen sizes ranging from 4 to 12-inches. The note which comes from analyst firm Kaufman Brothers makes reference to Apple testing 4, 7, 9, 10 and 12 inch displays over the last two years.
The firm goes onto state that based on the evidence Apple could be set to launch multiple tablet or netbook form factors in the near future, with 2010 being the most probable timeframe.
