With the release of the iPad in the U.S. approaching it is being rumoured that iTunes 9.1 will be released this week.
The rumour detailed by Mac Rumors will reportedly focus on eBook support with the "Audiobooks" section of iTunes being replaced with just "Books". The same change will also be made to the sources listed when a device such as an iPad, iPhone or iPod is connected. The section will then display all books compatible with the connected device.
Additionally the update will bring enhancement to Genius Mixes with the ability to rename, rearrange and Genius Mixes.
Finally when syncing a device the summary tab has been tweaked and the ability to convert songs to 128kbps AAC format when syncing music has been pushed out to all devices. The feature which is only currently available to iPod shuffle users allows smaller files to be synced to an iPod, iPhone or iPad while the original files stayed unchanged.
