ARM Chief Down Plays Acquisition Rumours

Following rumours that Apple was looking to make a bid on the chip-maker ARM the company's chief has stepped in to calm the rumours. Before the speculators could get carried away Warren East, ARM's chief executive told The Guardian that "nobody has to the buy the company".

"Exciting though it is to have the share price pushed up by these rumours, common sense tells us that our standard business model is an excellent way for technology companies to gain access to our technology. Nobody has to buy the company," East told the Guardian.

The Guardian also reminds those dizzied by ARM holdings mighty stock price climb this week that Apple already owns a microprocessor design - PA Semi.
