Gary Severson, senior vice president of entertainment for Walmart's U.S. stores, told BusinessWeek that Walmart intends to carry the iPad later in 2010. At the time Severson did not provide precise dates or prices.
The move comes alongside plans for the world’s largest retailer to add more Internet-connected flat-panel televisions, Blu- ray disc players, mobile phones and routers enabling U.S. consumers to link gadgets in their homes.
Apple spokesperson Steve Dowling did not offer any information regarding "any announcements regarding retail partners".
