Apple has notified those who ordered the 27-inch Cinema Display that their orders will ship for delivery this week. The news of shipping notifications arriving in inboxes also coincides with the release of a software update to support the new display.
LED Cinema Display Software Update 1.0 released yesterday weighs in at 76MB and requires Mac OS X 10.6.4, the update is accompanied by a support note outlining how the display will be supported.
The software update will add support for the 27-inch LED Cinema Display and allow for the ambient light sensor to be controlled from the System Preferences, it'll also allow audio to be routed through the display which uses the DisplayPort connector.
