Dubious iPad 2 Rumours Surface

Previous rumours about the second generation iPad have given us some insight into when the device might ship but details on exactly what the new iPad will be like are few and far between.

Today Digg founder Kevin Rose has given his two cents into the rumour mill claiming on "good authority" that the next generation iPad will have front and rear cameras, a Retina Display and will be announced within the next 3-4 weeks—even going as far as to pin February 1 as the date. In the short statement Rose says that Apple will announce the product in this timeframe but makes no mention of a shipping date.

Previously Rose weighed in on the Apple TV rumours and managed to get almost none of the details correct suggesting that Rose's sources aren't reliable.

Rumours about the second generation iPad have so far focussed on the shipping time with reliable sources pinpointing April as a likely stage for Apple to announce the update. Mass production of the iPad 2 according to these rumours isn't expected until February.
