Apple Back-to-School program in the US could kick off as early as next week according to people familiar with Apple's retail operations. The rumour from AppleInsider says that Apple is "currently gearing up for its yearly educational promotion."
AppleInsider indicates that numerous reports of a retail meeting this coming Sunday have sparked wild rumours but the site believes that the most likely subject of the meetings will be Apple's back-to-school promotion. AppleInsider adds, "people familiar with next week's plans say some of the materials and shipments rumored to be making their way to stores around the same time will be part of 'procedural changes' to the way the shops run or operate, rather than new products customers could buy."
Last year Apple kicked off its promotion on May 25 and offered a free 8GB iPod toch with a purchased Mac.
