Apple Releases Dual Core PowerMac G5’s

After much speculation and rumour Apple has finally released the Dual Core PowerMac G5 and as anticipated they have also released a Dual Dual Core machine, known as the Quad G5.

The G5 line up is now as follows;

Single Dual Core G5 2.0GHz $1999

Single Dual Core G5 2.3GHz $2499

Dual Dual Core G5 2.5GHz $3299

The PowerMac Quad G5 gives 4 effective processing units will be available in November and has the following spec;

PCI Express

up to 16GB of DDR2 SDRAM

Two Gigabit ethernet ports

Mighty Mouse as standard

GeForce 6600 either 128MB or 256MB

Rumour is that the new Quad G5 could power up to 8 screens!
