The Big 3-0 at Regent Street Apple Store

First off if your reading this expecting to see images of a big party at the Regent Street Store then sadly your wrong, but World of Apple did try and bring the birthday spirit to London...

April 1, 2006 and World of Apple has decided to purchase a balloon, not just any balloon but a 30th Birthday branded balloon.

The Plan - Three easy steps to ensure Apple celebrates its birthday

• Step 1 - Enter Apple Store and immediately ask for store manager, if this fails then persist by asking several more member of staff until you get your way. Failing to get your way after all of this, throw a tantrum somewhere near the Pro section.
• Step 2 - Once with manager, kindly shake hand and introduce yourself / selves, simply ask permission to borrow a few members of staff to hold a balloon and sing-a-long to "happy birthday" followed by "for he's a jolly good fellow". If manager denies kind request; throw tantrum.
• Step 3 - With images of Apple staff happily celebrating 30th Birthday, post them on the website for all to enjoy.

What Really Happened -

• 10.23am - World of Apple takes site of destination and makes a be-line. Upon entering destination members of covert team compose themselves and place Apple branded caps on to cover identity.
• 10.26am - Head for the first member of vulnerable staff and ask for the manager, some fluttering of eyelashes was required but SUCCESS! One phone call downstairs and the manager is on his way, we see him appear from the beautiful glass staircase, as he approaches we all put out our hands and greet him in a professional manner. Everything seems to be going to plan.
• 10.29am - Upon whipping out a giant.... balloon the manager looks startled straight at me. I put on my most charming voice and ask him if he would kindly allow us to grab a few members of staff to hold our balloon.
• 10.31am - Manager replies with a most negative reply about the privacy of members of Apple staff and that we should contact Apple Corporate headquarters if we wish to take such photographs.
• 10.32am - World of Apple staff swiftly removed from Apple Store Regent Street.
