SEC Filing Reveals Multiple Lawsuits Against Apple

In Friday's SEC filing Apple revealed that it is facing multiple federal lawsuits, one of which accuses the company of creating an illegal monopoly with iTunes and iPod.

The case which was filing on July 21 refers directly to Apples use of DRM, preventing music or video bought from iTunes working on any other player except an iPod.

On December 20 the court denied Apple's motion to dismiss the complaint.

A separate lawsuit filed November 7 alleges that the logic board failure of iBook G4 was abnormally high, the plaintiff is seeking unknown damages.

On October 24 another lawsuit was filing by PhatRat Technology LLC alleging patent infringement over the Nike+iPod product.

New Display Rumours Continue

MacOSXRumors believes that new displays will be revealed at Macworld. The site reports that the "next generation of Apple Cinema Displays could feature a built-in iSight, HDMI connectivity as well as support for HDCP. New sizes could appear in the line-up: the 23 inch model may be replaced by a 24 inch one while a larger model may broaden the line-up."

8-Core Mac Pro in January?

MacOSXRumors also believes that the long rumoured 8-Core Mac Pro will be revealed at Macworld. It looks likely that the current 4-Core model will remain in the product line.
