Apple Begins Running "What is iPad?" Advert, Offers Nod to the Past

Apple has begun airing a brand new iPad advert entitled "What is iPad?" which is a significant departure from Apple's usual style of TV advertising. The advert is presented as a series of short questions and statements offering a few glimpses of the iPad in action.

Unlike Apple's previous iPhone and iPad advertising the ad doesn't focus on any particular features, instead showing the iPad in numerous situations with very quick shots of apps.

As noted by Mac Rumors the advert is a nod to Newton adverts from almost 20 years ago. If Mac Rumors is correct then it could suggest that Apple will run a series of iPad adverts with the next being called "Who is iPad".

Here's the script for Apple's latest iPad advert:

"What is iPad?
iPad is thin,
iPad is beautiful,
iPad goes anywhere,
and lasts all day,
there's no right way,
or wrong way,
it's crazy powerful,
it's magical,
you already know how to use it,
it's 200,000 apps and counting,
all the world's websites in your hands,
it's video, photos,
more books than you could read in a lifetime,
it's already a revolution,
and it's only just begun.
