Apple will today announce its fourth quarter of 2010 fiscal results at 4.30PM EDT (9.30PM BST) and as always the eyes of Wall Street, analysts and bloggers will be firmly in Apple's direction. Apple will also hold a conference call at 5PM EDT (10PM BST), the call will be webcast here.
During last quarters conference call Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer gave the following statement looking ahead to Apple's fourth quarter of 2010:
“Looking ahead to the fourth fiscal quarter of 2010, we expect revenue of about $18 billion and we expect diluted earnings per share of about $3.44".
Unlike previous quarters this forward looking prediction from Apple is very bullish causing Wall Street to reevaluate how much it expects Apple to record. The Wall Street consensus as recorded by Thomson Financial is that Apple will announce revenue of $18.86 billion with an earnings per share of $4.06.
Bloggers, analysts and Wall Street have also placed their estimates for how many units Apple has sold. Many expect Apple to have sold 11.5 million iPhones during the quarter, 5 million iPads, and over 4 million Macs.
