It has been rumoured that Apple will coincide the release of its next Final Cut Studio package with the Final Cut Pro User Group SuperMeet that is happening later today (April 12) in Las Vegas. The meetup is occurring at the annual NAB show which has in the past been a launch stage for Apple's professional video products.
ProVideoCoalition last week claimed that Apple would use the SuperMeet for its product release saying:
Philip Bloom just confirmed with me that Canon has canceled his appearance at the Supermeet. Canon was told last night that Apple has demanded ALL “lecturn” or stage time exclusively. Some sponsors who were not using presenters may continue to sponsor the Vegas event, but none of them will be presenting on the stage.
Since last weeks rumour the SuperMeet website has been amended to include the following statement:
The Final Cut Pro User Group Network is excited to have a very special guest presentation at the 10th Annual Las Vegas FCPUG SuperMeet. Come to see a surprise sneak peek at something very special - you really do not want to miss this one!
Rumours of a major Final Cut Pro refresh have been circulating for some months and NAB is a very likely venue for such a refresh.
