According to reports Foxconn is said to be considering building a large plant in Brazil. The move which would see the company which assembles the majority of Apple products move from the massive Chinese economy into the huge South American country, but would also come with shipping and tax benefits.
The report from Reuters says that Foxconn Technology Group intends to invest over $12 billion in Brazil over 5 or 6 years.
The move is in part to satisfy the huge growing demand that Brazil and other South American countries are putting on manufacturers, such a move would benefit Foxconn in lowering import charges.
Aloizio Mercadante, Brazil's science and technology minister has reportedly told reporters that Foxconn aims to begin production of Apple's iPad in Brazil by the end of November this year.
