As expected Apple has given a demo of the new version of Final Cut Pro which the company will release in the summer. Final Cut Pro X was demoed to video enthusiasts at the Final Cut Pro User Group SuperMeet at the NAB 2011 show in Las Vegas. Apple describes Final Cut Pro X as a complete re-write of the original application.
PhotographyBay have a detailed play-by-play post on their website. Some of the most notable features in Final Cut Pro X are that the application will be fully 64-bit and have support for Grand Central Dispatch, this is said to dramatically improve background rendering by making use of all available processing power.
Final Cut Pro X will be available from the Mac App Store in June for $299.
During the presentation Apple made no mention of the other applications usually bundled with Final Cut Pro—Soundtrack, Motion, Color, Compressor and DVD Studio— but in a comment to The Loop said to "stay tuned".
