Apple has confirmed that an upcoming software update to iOS will fix an alarm clock bug that came to light last week.
ZDNet Australia reports that iPhone and iPod touch users have been awoken an hour early in New South Wales, the ACT, Victoria, and Tasmania since those areas switched to daylight savings a week ago. The time adjusted has not been applied to recurring alarms causing them to sound an hour early.
The bug affects iPhones and iPod touches running iOS 4 with recurring alarms set for both the week and weekend.
Apple told ZDNet that the company is "aware of this issue and [have] already developed a fix which will be available to customers in an upcoming software update."
The upcoming version of iOS is expected to be version 4.1.1 as iOS 4.2 remains in developer testing.
