Apple has today reportedly notified resellers that it has discontinued MobileMe retail boxes, marking a move to entirely digital sales. Apple has also removed boxed copies of MobileMe from sale on its online store.
The move has led to speculation that Apple will be imminently overhauling the MobileMe service and turning it free, rumours of changes to MobileMe have been circulating for some months.
Yesterday during Apple's annual shareholders meeting it mentioned that company's large data centre in North Carolina will be host to both MobileMe and iTunes and is expected to become operational in spring of this year.
