A new report today suggests that Apple may be planning to release the fifth-generation iPhone much later in 2011 than would be originally expected. The report cites sources from the Chinese supply chain speculates that Apple could release the iPhone 5 in late-September or October this year.
Macotakara.jp writes that Apple is yet to order components for its fifth-generation iPhone and Apple was planning to launch in the "first half" of its fiscal 2012 year which begins on September 25, 2011. It would seem very unlikely for Apple not to release a handset ahead of the busy Christmas shopping season.
Apple today announced that it will hold its annual developers conference in early June, the conference which usually plays host to the introduction of new iPhone hardware was quickly dismissed as doing so this year.
